Dearborn County bridge reopens after 4-year closure

DEARBORN COUNTY, Ind. – Collier Ridge Road reopened today after being closed for over four years for bridge reconstruction.

County Bridge #55 on Collier Ridge Road over west fork of Tanners Creek has been closed since April 2010.

The original bridge was constructed in 1920 and had a ten ton weight limit prior to the closure.

The $1.2 million bridge is a concrete structure with two full width lanes and shoulders. Funding was 80 percent federal and 80 percent local.
