(Greensburg, IN) – Decatur County Memorial Hospital (DCMH) is revolutionizing women’s healthcare by breaking down barriers to access and introducing innovative, patient-centered solutions.

With a focus on empowering women of all generations, DCMH is leading the charge to ensure healthcare is more convenient, inclusive, and tailored to the needs of today’s patients.

Recent updates to the scheduling and registration process at DCMH highlight a growing focus on inclusivity and user-friendly communication.

At a recent free community health screening event, 79 percent of attendees utilized a newly introduced online registration system. This strong participation highlights the growing demand for flexible, tech-savvy options that make healthcare more accessible to the community.

This shift addresses an essential need—studies show that 81 percent of Millennials and Gen Z individuals experience phone anxiety, which may deter them from scheduling critical appointments.

To address the community’s needs, DCMH developed accessible online registration forms, enabling patients to request appointments at any time and from any location—no phone call required. This innovative approach eliminates a common barrier for younger generations and ensures a more inclusive experience for all patients, regardless of their comfort level with traditional scheduling methods.

DCMH Family Healthcare Providers actively encourage the adoption of digital tools like the Patient Portal, as they enhance the patient experience and align with what patients seek. Through the portal, users can schedule appointments, manage appointments, access health records, review test results, and communicate directly with their providers. Expanding features and promoting the portal’s adoption are key priorities, enabling patients to make informed decisions about their health on their own terms.

Steps like these are part of a broader initiative to improve access to comprehensive women’s health services, from routine wellness exams to specialized gynecological needs, pregnancy care, reproductive health, and beyond. Women’s Health Services are designed to meet the unique needs of women at all stages of life, offering personalized care close to home.
