DCCF says large and small grants are made possible by donations made to a community fund, which is unrestricted. Community funds support broad, real-time projects in the county.
Donations made to community funds are invested, and interest earned off of those investments is used for grantmaking the following year.
Likewise, the community foundation says donations made to the Women’s and Children’s Fund are invested, and the interest earned will be granted to women’s and children’s projects the following year.
