
David L. Bovard, a dedicated employee, known for his long and fulfilling 21-year career at Seagram’s Distillery, passed away on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, in Edgewood, Kentucky. He was born on February 4, 1941, in Switzerland County, Indiana, and was a 1959 graduate of Vevay High School. David not only contributed to Seagram’s but also spent time working for Glenmoor Company in Harrison, Ohio, where he applied his skills with unwavering commitment. David married Sandra Schmeltzer on July 15, 1983 in Lawrenceburg, Indiana.
David leaves behind a loving family that includes his wife, Sandra Bovard, and his daughters, Londa Bovard, Kim (Tim) Bailey, Pam Hildebrand, Natalie Tanner, Benita (Bill) Moser, Michelle (Jay) Johnson, and Dedra (Paul) Trossman. He cherished the time spent with his 16 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren, whose lives he touched with his warmth and wisdom. He also enjoyed watching all their sporting activities and was a big Bengals and Reds fan. Additionally, he is survived by his sisters, Phyllis Barrows, Sandra (Roy) Huddleston, and Debbie Jones.
He was predeceased by his parents, Verle and Hildred (nee Slack) Bovard, his brother, Quentin Bovard, and his sister, Karen Brittain.
A visitation will be held in his memory on Saturday, December 6, 2025, at Jackman Hensley Funeral Home located at 215 East Broadway Street, Harrison, Ohio 45030, from 11:00 AM until time of prayer service at 1:00 PM to celebrate David’s life.
David L. Bovard will be remembered for his work ethic, his dedication to his family, and the love he shared with all who were fortunate enough to know him. His presence will be greatly missed but his legacy will live on in the hearts of those he leaves behind.
