David John Thomas, 88 of Aurora, Indiana, passed away Thursday, August 11, 2016 in Lawrenceburg, Indiana.
He was born July 13, 1928 in Dillsboro, Indiana, son of Edward Thomas and Martha Thomas.
He served his country as a member of the United States Coast Guard during WWII.
David worked as a Barrel Stacker for Seagram’s Distillery, retiring after over 40 years of service.
He was a member of the Lawrenceburg American Legion.
Surviving are his son-in-law, Howard D Lee, granddaughters, Tara Burns and Elizabeth Lee, great-grandchildren, Brittany, Thomas and Jason Burns, Harlie and Aidan Land and Zander Graf.
He was preceded in death by his parents, loving wife Lydia P. Thomas and daughter, Diana Lee.
Friends will be received Wednesday, August 17, 2016, 12:00 pm – 2:00 pm at the Rullman Hunger Funeral Home, Aurora, Indiana.
Services will be held at the funeral home, at 2:00 pm with Pastor Matthew Voyer officiating.
Interment will follow in the Oakdale Cemetery, Dillsboro, Indiana 47018. Military graveside services will be conducted by members of local Veterans Service Organizations.
