David Burns, of Sunman, was born on November 15, 1955 in Milan, a son to Roy Sr. and Cornie Daniel Burns. He spent many years of his life working at Lewis Auto Body shop. David was affiliated with Hope Baptist Church and the Sons of the Legion in Milan, Post #0235. He loved gardening, cooking, fishing, blue grass music, and especially his family. On Wednesday, October 23, 2019, at the age of 63, David passed away peacefully with family by his side.
Those surviving who will cherish David’s memory include four children, Michael (Valerie) Burns of Lawrenceburg, David (Stephanie) Burns of Albany, Jordan (companion Shane Johnson) Burns of Albany, and Kelsey (companion Jacob McKinley) Burns of Moores Hill; a special friend, Emily Schwering; four siblings, Ruthann Lewis of Sunman, Verda Day of Milan, Roy (Mona) Burns Jr. of Milan, and Ronnie (Gloria) Burns of Sunman; five grandchildren Randalyn, Raylon, Connor, Kamea, and Gracelynn; as well as several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, David was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Larry Lewis.
Friends may visit with the family on Monday, October 28, 2019 from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 12 noon at Hope Baptist Church, 15593 US-50, Dillsboro, Indiana 47018. Burial will follow immediately after in St. Paul Cemetery in Sunman.
