Darin Gerard Macke, 55, passed away unexpectedly on January 8, 2021. He was the son of Eugene and Elizabeth Macke, born on June 1, 1965 in Batesville. He was a 1983 graduate of Batesville High School.
He worked for Forethought Group, OSL, and Classic Medicab. He was a previous member of Jaycees in Batesville.
Darin loved to spend time with his family and pets. He enjoyed Indy and Nascar races. He was a train and Aviation enthusiast, loved Trivia, flying model planes and spending time at the Outer Banks.
Left to cherish his memory is his Wife, Kathy Macke; son, Jacob Macke; Mother, Elizabeth Macke, Brothers, Stephen (Donna) Macke and Kevin (Kristy) Macke and; Nieces and Nephews, Kate Acra, Brant Acra, Lily Acra, Daniel Hollin, Kelsey (Will) Ollier, Kollin (Olivia) Macke, Karson Macke, Kaitlynn (Kyle) Linville, and Tyler (Vanessa) Macke; Great Nephews, Michael Linville, Gavin Linville, and Leo Macke; Mother-in-Law, Mary Hollin; Sister-in-Law, Natalie (Todd) Acra; Brother in Law, Dan Hollin; Best Friend, Greg Schrader; and beloved pets, Maggie, Oscar, Sam and Sophie.
He was preceded in death by his Father, Eugene Macke; Father-in-Law, Joe Hollin; Paul Hartman (Bonus Father); and Grandparents, Leo and Hedwig Macke and Clarence and Rose Roell.
A Rosary will be prayed at 2:00 pm with the Funeral Service immediately following on Thursday, January 14, 2021 at the Gilliland-Howe Funeral Home. All will be broadcast on the Gilliland-Howe Funeral Home Facebook Page. A visitation will follow the Funeral from 3:30 until 5:30 pm. All visitors will have to wear a mask and observe social distancing, all public visitation guidelines are subject to change based on current Board of Health restrictions.
