Daniel E. Hurley

Daniel E. “Dan” Hurley, 82, of Manchester, Indiana passed away Thursday, May 19 2022.

He was born January 21, 1940, in Hamilton, OH, son of the late Forrest Hurley and Thelma (Hawley) Hart.

He was a dedicated, long-term employee of Coca Cola retiring after over 35 years of service.

He was a member of Community United Methodist Church, where he served as treasurer for many years. He also volunteered for (or was volunteered) for many church projects throughout his membership there.

In early years Dan was a Boy Scout Leader and a volunteer fireman for the Aurora Fire Department.
His true passion was horseback riding, very much a “cowboy” at heart. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed spending time with family and friends,
He never met a stranger and struggled during the pandemic not being able to shake a person’s hand.

Dan is survived by his loving spouse of 61 years, Phyllis “Kay” (Jackson) Hurley, daughters, Tina (Darryl) Mills of Sunman, IN, Dana Gail Hurley of Manchester, IN; sisters, Sheila Whatley of CA, Michelle (Chris) Kapillia of Mexico and sister-n-law Mary Hurley; grandchildren, Selena (Mark) Molique, Brooke Hurley, Dexter (Leah) Hurley, Brandon (Tara) Mills, Daniel (Jackie) Mills, Derek (Whitney) Mills; 18 great-grandchildren; and 1great, great-granddaughter.

He was preceded in death by parents, Forrest and Blanche Hurley and Thelma and Carl Hart; son Darryl Hurley, brother Murray Hurley and brother-n-law Lawrence Whatley.

A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, June 5th at 2 p.m.
Community United Methodist Church at the corner of Route 48 and Possum Ridge Road
Manchester, IN
