Dale Eugene Rouse of Holton, Indiana passed away Thursday, March 2, 2017 at the Veterans Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio. He was born on February 14, 1955 in Milan, Indiana, the son of Willis and the late Betty Powell Rouse. Dale was married to April Michele Chadwell Rouse who still survives at home.
Dale proudly served his country in the US army. He was a 38 year member of the Osgood American Legion and later became a member of the Versailles American Legion. He loved riding his Harley, and with his wife April, he had enjoyed riding in charity and poker runs throughout the county! Dale also drove a 1988 Fire Bird convertible which he was very proud of. After his retirement from KS Bearings of Greensburg, Indiana he was able to enjoy the great outdoors which included fishing wherever the fish were biting! His loved working in his yard, which included mowing the grass, trimming the shrubbery to planting the flowers! Sitting outside with a Miller Lite with his dog Nickels and his cat Tommy were other simple pleasures he greatly enjoyed. Most importantly, he LOVED his family. He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather who will be greatly missed.
Survivors include his wife April, dad Willis (Edna) Rouse of Batesville, IN, sons; Jeff Rouse of Portland, Oregon, Walden Rouse of Cross Plains, IN , Donald Comer of Osgood, Jonathon Orcutt of Aurora, IN and Walter Brightwell of Fort Wayne, IN ; daughter Shannon Rouse ; sister Treasa (Roger) Murray of South Carolina and 2 grandchildren survive. One brother Wayne Rouse preceded him in death.
Dale’s funeral service will be done all in one day Monday, March 6, 2017 at the Holton Christian Church of Holton, IN. Calling will be from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral which will be at 12:00 noon. Burial will be the church cemetery. Memorial donations may go to the cemetery.
