Cynthia Lee Stevens, 71, of Cincinnati, OH, passed away on Thursday, January 11th, 2024 at the Burlington House Nursing Home. Cynthia was born in Covington, KY on January 31, 1952, a daughter of the late Jean (McGraw) Purcell and Harry Purcell, Jr. She was a graduate of Rising Sun High School, Class of 1970. Cindy married Nelson R. “Nick” Stevens on January 18th, 1975 at the Aurora Church of Christ. Cindy and Nick were married nearly 49 years until her passing. She formerly worked as a project manager for Cincinnati Bell, retiring in 2000. Cindy always loved to be active until declining health prevented that. She enjoyed aerobics and going for long runs. Cindy was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend to many.
Cynthia is survived by her husband, Nelson “Nick Stevens, of Cincinnati, OH; by her daughter, Stephanie Blevins, of Bridgetown, OH; by her son, Kristopher Stevens and wife Sarah, of Cincinnati, OH; by her step daughter, Rhonda Knue and husband Doug, of Mason, OH; by her grandchildren, Morgan Case, Madison Case and Lindsey Blevins; and by her step grandchildren, Chloe Knue, Grant Knue and Tanner Knue. Cynthia is also survived by a sister, Cheryl Swanson and husband Reynold, of Mansfield, OH; by her brothers, David Purcell and wife Betty, of Birmingham, AL; John Purcell and wife Tina, of Warren, IN and Michael Purcell and wife Suzanne, of South Carolina; and by many nieces, nephews other family members and friends.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM, Friday, January 19th, 2024 at Markland Funeral Home in Rising Sun, IN with Bill Madison officiating. Visitation will be held 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Thursday, January 18th at Markland Funeral Home. Burial will be at Rising Sun New Cemetery.
