Because of a recent cyber attack Franklin County auditor, Karla Bauman has stopped outside access to the low financial system. Bauman released the following statement regarding the matter:
“Due to the recent attack to the Low Financial System, it was jointly decided between I and the Treasurer to disable user rights for those viewing thru the VPN access. If necessary, I will be more than happy to have a computer area for county council members in my office for viewing the information in the Low Financial System. Sorry for the inconvenience, however, security of the financial system and records are a priority. Thankfully we had a good backup on Wednesday night and only lost the work done on Thursday. Low has been working with us this morning to retrieve as much as possible from yesterday.”
No details of an investigation have been provided.
