COVID cases trending downward across state; Strike Team returning to Batesville

STATEWIDE — The Indiana Department of Health (IDOH) on Friday reported 4,478 new cases of COVID-19 and 33 deaths across the state.

Locally, Dearborn County had 33 cases and two deaths; Decatur County also reported 33 positives; Ripley County had 21 new cases, and Franklin County reported 18 positive cases and one death.

Meanwhile, the IDOH Strike Team will be back in Batesville this week for the second of two scheduled COVID-19 tests and vaccination clinics.

This week’s clinic is set for Wednesday through Saturday from Noon until 8 pm each day at the Batesville Area Resource Center (BARC) at 920 County Line Road.

Last week’s scheduled clinic at the BARC was interrupted by the winter storm.

The clinic was paused early on Wednesday and was closed Thursday and Friday but resumed Saturday afternoon.
