Columbus, IN — Columbus POlis Department (CPD) officers arrested a man on several felony charges after he reportedly overdosed inside a Columbus apartment on Monday evening.
At approximately 11:00 pm, CPD officers responded to a residence on Nicholas Lane in regards to a possible overdose. The arriving officers located Clinton J. Mings, 30, of Columbus, who was unconscious inside the apartment bathroom. CPD officers and paramedics rendered aid to Mings and administered four rounds of Narcan to him before he finally regained consciousness.
After observing drug paraphernalia inside the apartment, the officers applied for a later received a search warrant. During a search of the apartment, the officers located methamphetamine and heroin along with drug paraphernalia including digital scales as well as two firearms.
Mings was transported to Columbus Regional Hospital for medical treatment. Upon his discharge from the hospital, he was arrested on allegations of Dealing in Methamphetamine, Possession of Methamphetamine, Felon in Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by a Domestic Batterer, Invasion of Privacy, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
