Collision sends two to MMH

Laurel, IN — Sunday afternoon, Franklin County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to US 52, to the report of an accident with injuries. Deputies determined that Jason N. Cregar Jr., 20 of Laurel, was westbound on US 52 in a 2007 Hyundai Accent.

Cregar told Deputies that he didn’t see the oncoming vehicle when he attempted to turn into a private drive. Cregar turned into the path of an eastbound 2012 Ford Focus being driven by Ina L. Leake, 63 of Greensburg. Leake told deputies that she did not have time to react before the collision. Upon collision, the Hyundai went off of the roadway, colliding with a 2010 G.M.C. Terrain, which was parked in a driveway.

Leake, as well as a passenger in Cregar’s vehicle, a 13-year-old juvenile, were transported by Franklin County E.M.S. to Margaret Mary Hospital (MMH) for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
