In her younger years, she was an accomplished softball player and longtime league bowler. Coletta enjoyed cross stitching and making quilts out of the panels in addition to playing cards, especially 500. She served as a board member of the Batesville School Corporation and the Rush County REMC. After losing her eyesight, the radio kept Coletta connected to information, events and her family’s activities. She followed the Reds on the radio as well being able to listen to the high school sports broadcasts so she wouldn’t miss any of the grandkids games. According to her family, Coletta was a good cook and baker. They will especially miss her yeast rolls, cinnamon rolls and pies. Apparently, even without her eyesight, she knew if the dishes were truly clean or if you needed to re-wash them.
She is survived by her daughters Judy Leising, Sandy (Mark) Gutzwiller, both of Batesville; sons Ron (Kathy) Leising of Carmel, Indiana, Bill (Cindy) Leising of Columbus, Indiana, Tom (Jenny) Leising of Hamburg; step daughters Pat (George) Long of Florida, Jackie (John) Moorman of Hebron, Kentucky; step son Don Moeller of Las Vegas, Nevada; sister Carolyn Geis of Connersville, Indiana; brother Joe Cook of Cincinnati, Ohio; twenty one grandchildren; two step grandchildren; thirty six great grandchildren and daughter-in-law Jean Leising of Hamburg. In addition to her husbands and parents, she is also preceded in death by her son David Leising; step daughter Jane Bouldrick; step son Mark Moeller; brother Al Cook; two grandsons and one great grandson.
