Clifford N. Davis, age 92

Clifford N. Davis, age 92, of Connersville, Indiana and formerly of Brookville, died Sunday morning, August 13, 2017 at his home in Connersville.

Born June 7, 1925 in Union County, Indiana he was the son of the late G. Orris & Clara (Linkel) Davis. He was a graduate of College Corner High School with the class of 1943. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II, having served for three years with the 80TH Infantry in Germany & France.

On August 11, 1951 at St. Michael Catholic Church in Brookville he and the former Elsie Mae Meyer were united in marriage and she survives. Clifford retired in 1988 from Roots Blower in Connersville where he had worked for 40 years as an Electrician.

He was a member of St. Gabriel Catholic Church in Connersville. In his leisure time he enjoyed bowling, golfing, spending winters in Florida, as well as watching the Cincinnati Reds on television.

Besides Elsie, his loving wife of 66 years, survivors include four children & their spouses, Bill & Tina Davis of Indianapolis, Indiana, Randy & Joyce Davis of Connersville, Indiana, Debra & Jack Wilkerson of Liberty, Indiana and Mike & Brenda Davis of Connersville, Indiana; 7 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; several step-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Eileen Cornelius & Mary Frances Ridenour; and a brother Kenneth Davis.

Family & friends may visit from 4 until 7:00 P.M. on Thursday, August 17, 2017 at Phillips & Meyers Funeral Home, 1025 Franklin Ave., Brookville, where the Rosary will be recited at 7:00 P.M..

Rev. Dustin Boehm will officiate the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 A.M., Friday, August 18, 2017 at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, 145 East St. Michaels Blvd., Brookville. Burial with full military graveside honors by the Bernard Hurst Post #77 of the American Legion will follow in St. Michael Catholic Cemetery in Brookville.
