Naomi Christene White, 85, of Quercus Grove, IN, passed away at 7:50 PM, Friday, March 25th, 2016 at Dearborn County Hospital in Lawrenceburg, IN. Christene was born in Switzerland County, IN on February 1, 1931, a daughter of the late Georgie Mae (Ray) and Melvin Keith. Christene grew up in the Quercus Grove community and attended Patriot High School. In 1947 at the age of 17 she began working at Seagrams Distillery in Lawrenceburg, IN and worked there for 47 years. She was the widow of Cecil White, who passed away on November 27, 1976. Christene and Cecil were married on November 13, 1954. Christene was raised on a farm and her love for farming stayed with her throughout her life. She enjoyed raising cattle, growing tobacco and hay and doing any chores that needed to be done. Christene was a simple woman, her family, friends and farm was all she needed to be happy.
Christene is survived by a daughter, Diane Albright (Honk), of Quercus Grove, IN; by two sons Dewayne White (Kim), of Sana Rosa, CA and Mark White (Susan), of Bennington, KY; by a brother, Hilbert Keith, of Rising Sun, IN; by grandchildren: Carey Cline (Ashley), Zane White (Angie), Holly Hinkle (Jerry), Jessica Ester (Shawn), John Calloway, April Brindley (Phil), Jarrod Albright and Kristi Albright and by great grandchildren; Courtney, McKenna, Hanna, Conner, Bentley, Tessa, Jasmine, Jamason, Amber, Hunter, Reagan, Trenton & Coen. Christene was preceded in death by her parents, by her husband, Cecil and by a brother, Carlyle Keith.
Funeral services will be 2 PM, Thursday, March 31st at the Markland Funeral Home in Rising Sun, IN with Rev. Mike Jones officiating. Friends are invited to call Thursday 11AM-2PM at Markland Funeral Home. Burial will be at New Liberty Cemetery in East Enterprise, IN.
