Chris E. Volz, Jr., 92, Moores Hill

               Chris E. Volz Jr., 92, of Moores Hill passed away Monday, March 14, 2022 at his residence with his loving family by his side. Chris was born on Thursday, September 12, 1929 in Milan, Indiana; son of Chris and Ada (Koechlin) Volz, Sr. Chris married Judy Koenig, and later he married Pauline Wilson. Chris proudly served our country in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War Conflict. He was a member of the St. Charles Catholic Church in Milan. Chris retired after 42 years working for the car dealership in Milan. He was a member of the Milan American Legion Post #235, Kentucky Colonel, and the National Dealer Council. Chris was the owner of Volz Charolais farm. He held a private pilot license and owned his own private aircraft. He was a true outdoorsman, enjoying boating, fishing, and hunting whenever time allowed. He loved visiting with family and friends, taking trips to Florida, and was an animal lover.

Chris will be missed by his daughter Cindy Volz Hubler of Greenwood; son Joe Volz of Moores Hill; sisters Mary McKittrick and Rita Ester both of Milan; grandchildren Greg (Heidi) Hubler, Russ (Kelly) Hubler, Christi (Jason) Lyskava, Kai (Ryan) Smith, Lehua (Drew) Ponder, and Alex Volz; and great-grandchildren Cruze, Sailor, Cameron, and Lainey Hubler, and Zoey, Lincoln, Henry, and Rose Lyskava.

Chris was preceded in death by his parents, Chris and Ada Volz, Sr., son Chris Volz III “Trace”, former wife Judy Volz, and later Pauline Volz, sister Joanne Konnersman, and his in-laws.

Family and friends may gather in remembering Chris from 4:00 – 7:00 PM Thursday, March 17, 2022 at Laws-Carr-Moore Funeral Home in Milan. There will be a visitation one hour prior to the service from 10:00 – 11:00 AM on Friday, March 18, 2022 also at the funeral home with service immediately following at 11:00 AM with Pastor Tom Holt officiating. Burial will take place in St. Charles Catholic Cemetery with full military rites provided by Milan American Legion Post #235.
