Charles Allen Couch, 79, of Jensen Beach, Florida passed away on Friday, February 16, 2018 at the Martin Memorial Hospital in Stuart, Florida. He was born at Stearns, Kentucky on July 15, 1938 the son of Clarence and Bearthena Charles Couch. He was married to Lilimae Patrick on June 1, 1976 and she survives. Other survivors include two sons Christopher (Linda) Couch of Mt. Pleasant, Michigan, and Cary (Lisa) Couch of Batavia, Ohio; one step-son Richard (Bonnie) Pollard of Cincinnati; one step-daughter Vicki (David) Long of Indian Springs, Ohio; 8 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren; also surviving locally is his sister-in-law Iona Faye Tindle of Elrod. He was preceded in death by his parents, his step-son Patrick Pollard, four brothers and two sisters. Mr. Allen enlisted with the US Marines at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina on October 23, 1956 and rose to the rank of Lance Corporal. He received the Good Conduct Medal and was discharged on October 22, 1959. In civilian life Charles worked as a supervisor for the Formica Corporation in Cincinnati for 46 years, retiring in 2000. Charles was a member of the Nettles Island Community Church, Jensen Beach American Legion, Nettles Island Veteran’s Club, and the St. Lucie Elks. Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 3rd at 2pm at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles. Graveside services will follow at 3pm at the Washington Cemetery in Elrod with military honors by the Versailles American Legion. Memorials may be given to the Washington Cemetery in care of the funeral home.
