The second in this summer’s Southeastern Indiana Racing Circuit (SIRC) events took place with Saturday’s running of the Trojan Trot 5 K Run/Walk in St. Leon.
The top overall finisher was 15-year-old Jake Chapman from Batesville with a time of 17:41.
The top finisher in the women’s division was 18-year-old Lanie Nicholson of Versailles. The recent South Ripley HS graduate posted a time of 19:10, which was good for 5th overall.

In the 5 K walk, the top overall finisher was 67-year-old Gary Exaver of Sardinia OH with a time of 36:40.
He edged out 49-year-old Ginger Peters of Osgood, the top women’s finisher, who came in right behind at 36:41.

The SIRC 5K run/walk races are hosted by local high school cross country teams and help support cross country programs across the area.
