Carolyn Jean Barber, 77

Carolyn Jean Barber, 77, of Greensburg passed away on November 24, 2024. She was born on June 23, 1947 in Hamilton, Ohio the daughter of Rudolph and Helen Wheeler Crank. Carol was a 1965 graduate of Burney High School. She married Ernest “Bub” Barber on April 5, 1985 and he preceded her in death on May 10, 2012. Carol worked for BCA for 35 and 1/2 years before retiring in 2004. She was a member of the First Church of God.

Carol enjoyed summers by the pool, trips to Gatlinburg, Tennessee, canning sauerkraut, gardening, and spending time with her family, but especially her grandkids. You could always find her at her grandkids school and athletic events. She also loved mowing her yard, even though her son Dave would tease her that the dirt didn’t need mowed. When free, she took the trip to Indy to enjoy her favorite, Olive Garden with her daughter, Michelle and a delicious steak cooked by Derrick.

She and Ernie would frequent Cracker Barrel, and earlier in their marriage they would enjoy a good night of dancing, from time to time. Family (mom, sisters, brothers, and in laws) to her own kids and grandkids were the most important thing to her. The holidays were her favorite. She was ready for Christmas in January, so much she started her shopping then. Carol loved her family more than life, and never failed to remind you of that.
