The St. Louis Cardinals showcased their growing offensive firepower and trademark defensive strength Tuesday evening, rolling past the Greendale Tigers with a decisive 44-21 victory.
The Cardinals came out strong, putting up 19 first-half points while holding Greendale to just 7. The momentum continued in the third quarter, as the Cardinals added 9 points and limited the Tigers to only 2. Facing their first full-court press of the season, the Cardinals handled it with composure and confidence.
The fourth quarter turned into a shootout, with St. Louis scoring 16 points to Greendale’s 12. Every Cardinal contributed to the scoring and played a key role in the team’s solid defensive effort.
Lucas Werner led all scorers with 12 points, followed by Louie Candelot with 9. JJ Hountz and Kaleb Hardebeck each added 6 points, Levi Nobbe tallied 5, Ethan Dierckman contributed 4, and Luke Enneking rounded out the scoring with 2 points.
The Cardinals’ win improves their record to 4-1 on the season.
