Bulldogs Freshman Baseball Results

The Batesville HS Freshman Baseball team lost 9-7 to the Columbus East C-Team at home on Tuesday May 2nd.

Batesville was limited to only 2 hits but scored due to some aggressive baserunning and sacrifice hits. Hank Nobbe and Casey Werner had the 2 lone hits.

Shane Meer started the game on the mound throwing 2 innings. He allowed 3 hits while striking out 3. Drew Keifer followed Meer pitching 3 innings, he gave up 3 hits while striking out 2. Casey Werner came in to finish on the mound throwing 2 innings, giving up 4 hits and striking out 2.

The BHS Freshman baseball team traveled to Madison on Saturday May 13th and won 21-2 in 5 innings.

Several players had multiple hits on the day:  Drew Keifer 2 hits / 1 RBI / 3 walks; Alex Smith 2 hits / 2 RBI; Hank Nobbe 1 hit / 4 RBI; Jake Cruse 2 hits / 2 RBI / 1 walk; Casey Werner 1 hit / 1 RBI / 1 walk; Cory Ralston 2 hits / 5 RBI / 1 walk; Ben Obendorf 1 hit / 1 RBI.

Hank Nobbe was on point on the mound throwing 4 innings, striking out 5 while only allowing 2 hits.  Casey Werner came in to close the game in the 5th inning and struck out the side.

Batesville is now 5-3 on the season and will host Columbus North this Thursday 5/18 @ the BHS field for their last game of the season.
