Bulldogs Battle Chargers In Middle School Hoops

 

The Batesville 7th Grade team improved to 6-0 with a 36-34 victory over North Decatur. Both teams battled extremely even all game. 1st quarter score saw ND up 12-10. Batesville came back to take the lead 22-19 at the half….Batesville on defense, down 1 with 2.6 seconds left. Cade Kaiser tips the inbound pass, Carson Laker retrieved the ball and fired it up, and in! Bulldogs win at the buzzer!  Scoring for Batesville was Carson Laker with 13, Cade Kaiser with 11, Grant Goldsmith with 5. 3 a piece from Jake Chapman and Will Jaisle. Jacob Stenger with 1.  

The BMS 8th Graders bounced back from their first loss by defeating North Decatur by a score of 43-22. The Bulldogs came out firing early, grabbing a 17-7 lead after the first quarter. Sam Johnson shot the ball well early and defensively, Batesville forced a lot of turnovers with their pressure all night. Offensively Sam Johnson led the way with 12 points, followed by Gus Prickel (11), Conner Drake (8), Eli Loichinger (6), Carter Bohman (3), Deacon Hamilton (2), and Emi Lopez (1). 8th grade improves to 5-1 on the season.

The ND Charger Boys 7th Grade squad lost a heart breaker to an undefeated Batesville team, on a last-second heave by Batesville to come away with the 36-34 victory. With a very solid performance from start to finish, in a back and forth game, the Chargers played probably their best overall game of the young season. The Chargers were led by Parmer with 19 pts. & 9 reb., while Hancock had 7 pts., Krieger 4, and Mauer & Morris contributed 2 apiece. The Chargers now stand at 4-3 on the season and host Hauser on Dec. 5.
