The Batesville Bulldogs wrestling team kicked off their postseason with a strong performance at the Franklin County Sectional, securing a 5th place team finish and advancing six wrestlers to regionals. Max Amberger headlined the day, capturing his second sectional championship with three pins.
Five other Bulldogs battled their way to the finals, earning a spot at regionals:
- Carson Weiler (Freshman) – Advanced to the finals with a forfeit win and a dominant 11-1 decision, finishing 2nd.
- Adam Brewer – Secured his second regional appearance with a 15-0 tech fall and a pin on his way to 2nd place.
- Damien Dance – Qualified for his third regional with two pins before finishing as a runner-up.
- Alex Krekeler – Punched his ticket to regionals with a pin and a thrilling 11-8 overtime victory, finishing 2nd.
- Andrew Jones – Placed 3rd, making his second regional appearance after earning a pin and grinding out 7-6 and 2-0 decision victories.
Other Notable Performances:
- Isaac Enneking – Scored team points with a pin and finished 6th.
- AJ Dance, Kaden Lamping, and Mason Dance – Each received forfeit wins.
The Bulldogs will now shift their focus to Regionals next Saturday in Richmond, where they will look to extend their postseason success.
