Bulldog Grapplers Earn Split At Rushville Meet

Batesville Wrestling continued their season traveling to Rushville to compete in four duals. Batesville split the day going 2-2 defeating EIAC opponents Greensburg and Connersville.

Batesville started the day losing to a talented Centerville team 61-12. Getting wins for the bulldogs were Jt Linkel (145) and Josh Mobley (152) by pin.

The Bulldogs then battled conference rivals Greensburg. Batesville controlled the dual winning 6 out of the 7 matches wrestled giving up only one forfeit. Alex Murphy(113) and Caleb Bischoff-Niese (126) started things out with each picking up a forfiet. Tyler Schaeffer (132), Jonah Chase (138), Jt Linkel, and Josh Mobley would follow up with pins. Jacob Weigel (160), Axel Garcia (182) would each win 6-3 and 7-4 respectfully leading to a 42-12 victory.

Batesville next went up against Eiac member Connersville. Batesville would have an other stong showing with 7 bulldogs getting 6 point victories. Caleb Bischoff-Niese and Josh Mobley would pick up forfiets while Alex Murphy, Tyler Schaeffer, Jonah Chase, Jt Linkel and Axel Garcia would pick up pins giving the bulldogs a 42-34 victory.

Batesville would close the day challenging host team Rushville losing to the Lions for the second week in a row. Jonah Chase, Jt Linkel, and Josh Mobley would each pick up pins. Rushville would go on to win 60-18.

Batesville moves to 6-5 on the year with Jt Linkel and Josh Mobley going 4-0 on the day and Jonah Chase picking up 3 victories. Also competing varsity for the bulldogs of the day was Brandon Manning at 195. Batesville will travel to East Central next Saturday.
