(Decatur County, IN) – A brush fire that got out of hand led to a structure fire near Forest Hill in Decatur County’s Jackson Township Thursday evening.

The Letts Community Volunteer Fire Department says crews were dispatched around 6:45 p.m., and they arrived at the scene to find smoke coming out of a detached garage.

It was determined the home owner was burning brush when the fire spread across the yard and got into the garage’s wall.

The fire was quickly put out.

There were no injuries reported.

Letts received assistance from the Westport and Marion Township volunteer fire departments, the Decatur County Sheriff’s Office and Decatur County EMS.
