Brian Hunter, age 66 formerly of Brookville

Brian D. Hunter, of Sebring, Florida and formerly of Brookville, passed away May 30, 2025. He was born on May 27, 1959, in Batesville, Indiana, a son to the late Donovan and Alma Turner Hunter.  Even though Brian entered the world with many challenges, he lived a very full life, loved by all those who knew him.  His parents were instrumental in the start up of the WATCH Center in Brookville, where he would be involved for many years.  Brian was very athletic and participated in the Special Olympics, winning 7 gold medals.  He loved country music and going to concerts.  Brian was easy going and had a great sense of humor.  His sister fondly remembers the drives he enjoyed every Sunday with her in one of the family race cars.  He was her biggest fan at every flat drag and would happily accept the trophies she won.  In the mid-90’s Brian moved with his family to Florida where he stayed active in sports, especially bowling.  Recently he had many health issues and passed away at the age of 66.

Surviving to cherish Brian’s memory is his sister, Gail Hubbard; one niece, Paula Mounce; two great-nephews, Tyler and Dalton Mounce, and numerous cousins and other family members.

Brian will be laid to rest next to his parents in Maple Gove Cemetery.  A Celebration of Life is planned for a later date.  Cook Rosenberger Funeral Home is honored to assist the family of Brian Hunter.  To sign the online guestbook or to leave a personal condolence, please visit www.cookrosenberger.com.
