Boys basketball recaps from January 29

Boys varsity (and JV where noted) basketball recaps from Saturday, January 29.  There may be updates so please check back.

Batesville bombed The Hanger at Hauser 57-37.  BHS jumped out to a 25-8 first quarter lead.

Sam Johnson led BHS with 19 points (7/12 shooting). Thomas Raver followed with 10.  Cole Pride grabbed six rebounds and Cole Werner dished out five assists.

The Bulldog reserves also won big 59-26 over the Jets.  Gus Prickel and Cole Pride paced the Canine JV with 10 points each.  Jack Grunkemeyer netted eight.

Franklin County won its 13th straight game, taking out Talawanda 74-53 in Oxford, Ohio.  FC dominated the glass by a count of 27-8 and hit a staggering 82 percent from 2-point range (28/34).

The Wildcats got big performances from Chad Cox, Brant Ertel and JD Stokes.  Cox amassed 24 points, six rebounds and seven assists.  Ertel tallied 20 points, six boards and four assists while Stokes doubled up on points and caroms with 18 and 10.

Greensburg beat Brown County 66-32.  KI Dyer netted 20 points, Colin Comer scored 16 and Dakota Walters logged 14.  Dyer also had a handful of assists and steals while teammates Jeter Edwards and Brenden Stanley pulled down eight rebounds each.

Jac-Cen-Del was a 58-50 winner over Trinity Lutheran. For the Eagles, it was Wyatt Day with 22 points, Caleb Simon 10 and Devin Grishop eight.

JCD’s JV won 47-43.  Caleb White logged a team-high 10 points. Brady Comer, Seth Drockelman and Corbin White all posted eight.

South Decatur got by Triton Central 72-64.  Hunter Johnson poured in 37 points, Jacob Scruggs scored 15 and Evan Wullenweber had 10.  Johnson also notched nine rebounds, four assists and three steals.  Dale Peters only scored four points but contributed seven rebounds and four assists.

Milan was a 77-72 winner in double overtime against Switzerland County.

The Indians MJ Hartman recorded 27 points, five assists and three rebounds. Teammate Caidan Yorn collected 16 points and 10 rebounds.

Cam Craig of the Pacers also scored 27 points to tie for game-high honors. Bryce Wrightsman tallied 14 points, six boards and four assists while Jacob Williams scored 10 and secured eight rebounds.
