Bonnie (Bonita) M. Carter, a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, and mentor, passed away at home in Lawrenceburg, Indiana, on August 25th, 2025, at the age of 75. Born November 26, 1949, in Glendale, Ohio, she will be remembered not only for her unwavering love of God and her family, but also for her dynamic ability to connect with people through her faith in a way that inspired many. To know her, she was a true force with unrelenting energy, willful in her determination as seen in her ministry work, through outreach with the homeless, women transitioning from incarceration and addiction, and at-risk youth.
She is preceded in death by her dedicated husband of 50 years, Michael Carter, her father Robert Johantges, her mother, Ruth Johantges (nee Ebinger), and brother, Robert Johantges II, of Cincinnati, Ohio.
She is survived by her loving daughters, Nichole (Jeff) Walden and Denise (Doug) Craven, both of Lawrenceburg, Indiana. She was a loving nana to her four grandchildren, Alyssa Bailey, Will Walden, Riley Craven and Gabriel Walden. She is also survived by countless family members and friends.
We are proud to celebrate her life and legacy and have hope in her eternal life through the spirit of Jesus Christ.
