Robert “Bob” Wirtz, 79 years old of Bright, IN, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 21, 2025. An outdoorsman at heart, Bob was a man that never slowed down. If he
wasn’t on the golf course, you might find him in his bass boat fishing for the day. If he wasn’t tending to his garden, you might find him cutting the grass at Sugar Ridge Golf Course or St. John’s Catholic Church in Harrison. Bob always found something to keep him busy and enjoyed skiing, playing tennis or hunting with his son, Chris, just to name a few. For over 40 years, he kept the 3rd week in June reserved for a fishing trip on the St. Lawrence River in New York. While he was gone, he turned over responsibility for his prized garden to his daughter, Kelly, to keep the corn and zucchini watered and growing as it should.
Bob enjoyed the simple things in life like going to his grandkids’ ball games and Indiana fried chicken one could only find at Wagners, St. Leon Tavern, and summer festivals. To sum up Bob’s personality you might say if he wanted to do something he would, but if not, he wouldn’t. He knew what made him happy and beyond all his activities it came down to family and faith; he loved his family and he loved his church.
Bob will be deeply missed by Barb, his wife of 41 years; children Chris Wirtz and Kelly (Andy) Edwards; grandchildren Kayla, Brooke, Rylee, and Parker. He is preceded in death by his parents Rose and Edward Wirtz and sister Mary Lynn Schoene. Services for Bob will be held on Thursday, July 3 at St. John the Baptist Church in Harrison, OH. Visitation will begin at 10:00am followed by Mass of Christian Burial at
11:00am. Memorials can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association. Memorial donations will be accepted at the visitation or can be mailed to the funeral home. Family and
friends are encouraged to leave condolences at www.andres-wuestefeldfh.com.
