Blodgett chosen by GOP caucus to fill Decatur Co. Commissioner vacancy

Decatur County, IN — The Decatur County Republican Party on Thursday evening chose Tony Blodgett on the seventh ballot to fill the County Commissioner District 1 seat left vacant by the passing of Chuck Emsweller.

A total of nine people put their names in contention for the position.  In addition to Blodgett, the other candidates were:

  • Rob Duckworth
  • Bob Darby
  • Barb Lecher
  • Tim Reece
  • Bill Metz
  • Wayne Shake
  • Doug Banks

Decatur County Clerk Janet Templeton Howell was the only candidate to turn in paperwork to run for the vacant Party Treasurer post.

That vacancy was created when Brenda Dwenger resigned.
