Billy (Jack) Frances Laird passed away Friday, August 12, 2022. He was born on June 15, 1936 in Covington, Kentucky to the late Thomas Charles Laird and Helen Mae (Clifton) Laird.
Billy loved the Lord and attended the Wesleyan Holiness church on Walnut Street in Lawrenceburg, IN. From the early age of 9, Billy was a University of Kentucky Wildcat Fan. He was true Blue and never wavered in his loyalty. He attended Lawrenceburg High School where he participated in theatre and excelled in band playing the trumpet, trombone and tuba (he was big winded). After high school Billy joined the Army and served his country doing a two-year term in Germany. On June 20, 1959 he married Thelma Hinman in the church he grew up in. From this union five children were born and they would spend the next 50 years united in marriage, side by side. Billy was a Baker by trade and brought delight to neighborhood children, police officers and hospital staff for years. He retired from Bildner and Sons Bakery of Lawrenceburg due to health-related issues. Billy was a licensed minister and chaplain and donated his time to our local jail, hospital and Rising Sun Care Center. In addition, he and his wife Thelma donated their time and talent through their Gospel music ministry to our local nursing homes. Billy enjoyed his CB radio time and friends, he loved to fish and was an avid whistler. He was a simple man that served and loved the Lord and his family. He had a huge personality with an infectious smile, a boyish giggle and a pure heart. He will be missed!
