Billie Laugle

Billie Laugle, age 88 of Batesville, died Wednesday, June 5, 2019 at her residence.  Born November 19, 1930 in Batesville, she is the daughter of Loretta (Nee: Mollaun) and Herman Moorman.  She married Neal Laugle March 31, 1951 at St. Louis Church and he preceded her in death March 9, 2012.  She was a member of St. Louis Church and the Prell-Bland American Legion Ladies Auxiliary.

Billie was a homemaker and spent her most of her life volunteering at St. Louis School, Oldenburg Academy and the Srs. of St. Francis Convent.  The family shared that she’s never had a driver’s license.  As the kids turned sixteen, they became mom’s chauffeur so, with ten kids, getting around wasn’t a problem.  Billie faithfully attended all of her children’s and grandchildren’s extracurricular activities, sporting events and functions.  They also mentioned mom had a terrific sense of humor.

She is survived by her daughters Jane Narwold of Chattanooga, Tennessee, Julie Donohue of Mount Dora, Florida, Jill Konradi of Batesville, Jenny Brebberman of Indianapolis, Janice Laugle of Bloomington, Indiana; sons Tom of Portland, Oregon, Paul of New Point, Jack and Bob, both of Indianapolis; sister Betty Ricci of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio; brother Ace Moorman of Oldenburg; 18 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.  In addition to her husband and parents, she is also preceded in death by daughter Linda Laugle; sisters Romilda Brewer, Rita Moorman and brothers Pete, Dick, Wally and Nick Moorman.

Visitation is Tuesday, June 11th, from 4 – 7 p.m. at the Weigel Funeral Home.  Funeral services are 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 12th at the Srs. of St. Francis Chapel with Rev. Carl Langenderfer O.F.M. officiating, followed by burial in St. Louis Cemetery.  The family requests memorials to the Srs. of St. Francis or St. Louis School.  For online condolences go too www.weigelfh.com.
