(Batesville, IN) – The City of Batesville continues its revitalization efforts by offering matching funds for storefront renovations through the Building Improvement Grant (BIG).
This grant program can significantly reduce the financial burden of exterior renovations for local businesses, providing up to 5,000 dollars in matching funds.
The BIG program is open to tenants and property owners for permanent exterior restoration and development. In order to be eligible, tenants must have at least two years remaining on their lease, or an option to renew.
The Batesville Economic Development Commission (BEDC) must approve all renovations, and projects must abide by local ordinances.
Eligible projects include:
● Awnings
● Windows
● Painting
● Structural or design changes
● Exterior finishes
● Door repairs
Last year’s grant recipients include Concepts Framing, Assured Partners, Langen Meats, and Ripley County VFW Post #3183. Their grants allowed them to replace windows, awnings, and general exterior fixtures.
