BHS Wrestling at EIAC

Batesville High School wrestling traveled to South Dearborn to compete in the EIAC wrestling tournament on Saturday. Entering only 12 out 14 weight classes, the Bulldogs were able to battle to a fourth place finish with 9 places, 4 finalists, and two champions.

Winning championships were freshman Carson Weiler(106) and senior Max Amberger(285). Weiler received a forfeit in the first round, won by pin in the second round, and won his championship match with a 4-0 decision victory. Amberger won all three of his matches by pin, wrestling a total of 7:37 across three matches.
Also making the finals and finishing 2nd were sophomore Adam Brewer(132) and senior Damien Dance(165). Brewer received a forfeit in the first round and won by pin in the second round before falling to Conference MVP Colin Troyer from Franklin County 0-14. Dance won his first two rounds by pin before dropping a close match 13-14 in the championship match.
Five other Bulldogs walked out with placement. Senior Alex Krekeler(190) went 3-1 with two pins and forfeit to finish 3rd. Senior Conner Shields(150) went 2-2 with a pin and a major decision finishing fourth. Senior Andrew Jones(215) also went 2-2, picking up 2 pins and a 4th place finish. Junior Adam Dance(120) picked up a decision victory on his way to a 6th place finish. Freshman Isaac Enneking(157) picked up a pin and a 6th place finish. Also competing for the bulldogs were freshman Kaden Lamping(126), sophomore Jacob Starost(138), and freshman Ryan Ollier(175).
The Bulldogs will continue their season on Tuesday January 21st, traveling to Indiana School of the Deaf.
