Batesville boys soccer opened the season with a 4-1 loss at Greenfield-Central on Tuesday evening.
Cohen Flannery scored the Bulldogs’ lone goal in the first half on an assist from Ronan Post, which tied the match at 1-1.
The Cougars retook the lead with 9:49 remaining, and sent it into halftime with Batesville down 2-1.
Bulldog coach Kyle Hunteman says his team continued to compete in the second half, but G-C added two late goals.
