Betty Joan (Palmer) Culp

Betty Joan (Palmer) Culp, age 82, was born on November 20, 1935 in Osgood, Indiana.  She was the only child of the late Omer Sylvanus and Violet (Talbot) Palmer.  Betty gained her heavenly wings as passed away on Monday October 15, 2018 in Oregon City, Oregon.

Betty married the love of her life July 1, 1967 when her and CW4 Ranal H. Culp married in Fort Walters, Texas.  The years together allowed them to move around the United States and even spend time in Germany.  She was blessed with 4 daughters; Sandra Hollowell, Brenda Simers, Vania Laflamme, and Amy Lindley.

During the years they spent in Osgood, Betty was a devoted Sunday School teacher at Osgood First Baptist Church.  She enjoyed spending time in her garden, growing beautiful flowers, and traveling whenever possible.  Betty was passionate about being an Army wife, she was proud to be a part of supporting her country and a member of the Osgood American Legion Auxiliary.  She was well known on the Army Base and in Ripley County for her amazing ability to bake and decorate specialty cakes.  Above all else, was the love of her family, she loved every aspect of being a mom and wife.

Betty is survived by her daughters along with 15 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild.  She was preceded in death by husband Ranal, grandson Travis, and great grandson Eric.

A public visitation will be held on Friday October 19, 2018 from 10-12 am, with funeral services being held at 12:00.  All services will be held at Neal’s Funeral Home.  Burial will be at Greendale Cemetery outside of Osgood.  Memorials may be made out to Rescue 69 in care of the funeral home.
