Betty B. (Gordon) Grace, 90, of Dillsboro passed away Wednesday, March 5, 2025, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Lawrenceburg. Betty was born on Monday, December 10, 1934, in Dillsboro to Tom and Tena (Schmaltz) Gordon. Betty married the love of her life, Donald Grace, on September 3, 1955, and he survives her. They would have been married 70 years in September.
Betty worked for the United States Post Office for 25 years. She was a member of the Eastern Star and a lifelong member of the Hopewell Presbyterian Church in Dillsboro.
She was a passionate gardener, loved her flowers and spending time outdoors. Betty enjoyed sewing, reading, collecting antique bottles, and playing cards on her iPad. She was a wonderful cook and enjoyed the years spent cooking and helping at the Shrine Club steak dinners.
Ultimately, spending time with her family, grandkids, and great-grand-kids brought her the most joy.
Betty will be dearly missed by her husband, Donald Grace of Dillsboro; son Donald Grace Jr. (Sue) of Dillsboro; daughter Gina (Dan) Roessler of Akron, Ohio; brother Jerry (Madonna) Gordon of Dillsboro; grandchildren Lindsay (Jordan) Root, Lauren (Brian) Hochstrasser, Cole (fiancé Ruby) Roessler, and Clay (fiancé Erin) Roessler; and great-grandchildren Madilynn, Logan, Sophia, and Kolby.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents Tom and Tena Gordon; sister Dolly Holland; and brothers Dick Gordon, Albert Gordon, and Tommy Gordon.
Services will be held at the convenience of the family. Memorials may be given in honor of Betty to Hopewell Presbyterian Church, Dillsboro or Shriners Hospital for Children.
