Bertha L. (Bishop) Morris, 89, of Moores Hill passed away Wednesday, July 24, 2024, at her home with her loving family by her side. Bertha was born on Saturday, January 19, 1935, in Kentucky; daughter of Virgil and Maddie (Cole) Bishop. Bertha married the love of her life, Charles Morris, on November 13, 1954, and he preceded her in death on August 26, 2001. Bertha was a member of the Moores Hill Church of Christ where she helped start the church and was one of the oldest founding members. She enjoyed gardening, canning, quilting, sewing, and was known to be an amazing cook.
Bertha will be missed by her sons Charles R. (Diana) Morris of Moores Hill and Jerry (Wendy) Morris of Moores Hill; daughters Diana Roark of Metamora and Rebecca (Monte) Morris of Moores Hill; sister Mary Eversole of Kentucky; 11 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren.
Bertha was preceded in death by her parents Virgil and Maddie Bishop; husband Charles Morris; stepson Clarence Morris; 7 brothers; and 1 sister.
Family and friends may gather in remembering Bertha from 10:00 AM-12:00 PM, Friday, July 26, 2024, at the Sibbett-Moore Funeral Home in Moores Hill. Services will immediately follow at 12:00 PM with Pastor Tito Pel officiating. Memorials may be given in honor of Bertha to the Moores Hill Church of Christ.
