Bernadine “Bernie” (Obermeyer) Wuestefeld, 77 years old, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 16, 2025. She was born on June 30, 1947, to parents Clarence and Ethel Obermeyer in Batesville, IN. She married Rodney Wuestefeld on July 7, 1973. They were blessed with 3 sons, Jarod, Matt and Troy. Bernie was a homemaker who worked hard taking care of her boys. She was a fabulous cook, ruthless card player (no matter if it was War with grandchildren or 500 with adults) and loved to sing. You could always count on her to call on your birthday to sing to you. She was loved by many, including her 8 siblings, 9 grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She had a great sense of humor and enjoyed a cold beer or mixed drink every evening.
Bernie was preceded in death by her parents Clarence and Ethel Obermeyer, husband Rodney, sister Carol Ann (Obermeyer) Suttman, brothers Dennis and Gary Obermeyer, and grandson Garret Wuestefeld. She is survived by her sons Jarod (Jennifer) Wuestefeld, Matt (Erin) Wuestefeld and Troy (Crystal) Wuestefeld, grandchildren Landen, Avery, Lane, Parker, Layla and Ella Wuestefeld and step grandchildren, Kyle and Kody Wilhelm, great-granddaughter Addison Tucker, and siblings Alice (Dale) McCarty, Mary Jane Boyd, Pam Obermeyer, John (Ann) Obermeyer, Connie (Dennis) Harmeyer, Beth (Kenneth) West.
Services honoring Bernie will be held on Thursday, June 19. Visitation will be held from 9:00am – 11:30am at Andres-Wuestefeld Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 12:00pm at St. Peter’s Catholic Church immediately followed by burial in the church cemetery. Memorials can be made to the Ellise Brown Foundation which raises SIDS awareness and helps families that have experienced infant loss.
