The Batesville varsity wrestling team opened the season with a 45-33 win over Jennings County. The win was a group effort as Batesville won 8 of the 14 weight classes. AJ Dance (106) and Riley Weiler (113) both picked up their first wins of the year by forfeit. Adam Brewer (120), David Maher (157), Damien Dance (165), Dylan Comer (190), and Max Amberger (285) all began the year winning by a pin, while Andrew Jones (215) won his match by decision 6-4.
