Batesville Kicking Off America 250 Celebration Planning

(Batesville, IN) – The City of Batesville is beginning preparations for America’s 250th birthday in July 2026, and they’re looking for community members who would like to help plan the celebration.

A kickoff meeting will be held on Monday, December 1 at the Batesville Memorial Public Library from 4:30 to 6 p.m.

There are several subcommittees forming, and volunteers are welcome in any area of interest.

Those subcommittees include:
• Fireworks
• Parade
• Kids’ activities
• Music
• Food trucks
• Outdoor picnic events
• Beer garden
• Vendors and community booths
• Memorial Pool activities
• Historical presentations
• Historic tours
• Community baseball events
• Summer and patriotic movies

City leaders say everyone is welcome and that no experience is necessary – just an interest in helping create a celebration the whole community can enjoy.

If you can’t make the December 1 kickoff meeting, you can express interest in helping or get more information by contacting the city.
