Batesville JV Splits Games In Ripley County Tournament

basketballThe Batesville Bulldogs defeated the Milan Indians in the opening round of the JV tournament on Wednesday night 43-33.

Jayden Beal led the team with 13 points while Trey Heidlage and Sam Haskamp chipped in with 8 and 6 respectively. Heidlage also led the team with 4 assist while Haskamp recorded a block along with Austin Siefert. Heidlage, Beal, Siefert, and Mitch Esser all recorded 2 steals a piece while Beal also statted 3 deflections. Haskamp led the team with 6 rebounds while John Harmeyer recorded 5 and Siefert 4.

The Bulldogs lost in the finals of the Ripley County tourney to the Jac-Cen-Del Eagles. 24% shooting and 17 total turnovers made it hard for the Bulldogs to overcome the Eagles in the championship.

Beal once again led the team with 11 points while Trey Heidlage and John Harmeyer both recorded 7 points. Defensively, Kyle and Austin Siefert along with Mitch Esser led the team with 2 steals. Beal led the team with 2 deflections while Haskamp recorded the team’s only block. Sam Haskamp led the team with 7 rebounds while Mitch Esser and John Harmeyer recorded 6 and 5 respectively.

The Bulldogs season record is now 5-5 as they head to play at Greensburg on Thursday night.
