(Batesville, IN) – Batesville City Council held first readings on a pair of 2026 salary ordinances Monday night.
One was for employee salaries and hourly rates, while the other pertains to elected officials.
Clerk-Treasurer Paul Gates is proposing a 2 1/2 percent across-the-board increase to be included in both salary ordinances, based on the Consumer Price Index.
Both ordinances will are expected to be up for approval upon second reading at the September 8 meeting.
