Batesville CC sweeps Ripley Co. team and individual titles

Batesville Cross Country made a clean sweep of all the hardware from Thursday’s Ripley County Championships in Milan.  BHS won the boys team title 21 to 70 over Jac-Cen-Del and claimed the girls title 19 to 58 over South Ripley.  The Bulldogs Ean Loichinger (16:53) and Kaylynn Bedel (20:16) were the individual MVP county champs.

The following individuals finished in the top 10 and earned All-County honors.  The information was reported by Milan AD John Prifogle.

Batesville’s Lisa Gausman:  Congratulations to the Batesville Bulldogs as both teams captured the Ripley County team championships at Milan. The boys scored a low 21 points as the girls tallied up only 19.

Both Batesville teams placed six in the top 10 to make the All-County Team and were able to crown the County MVPs.  The overall winner for the boys and earning the MVP title was senior Ean Loichinger with a time of 16:53.  For the girls, it was freshman Kaylynn Bedel who claimed the MVP title in 20:16.

Other Bulldogs who were named to the All-County Team were: (boys) Benjamin Moster (2nd), Daren Smith (4th), Kyler Daulton (6th), Will Nuhring (8th) and Jake Chapman (9th); (and girls) Lily Pinckley (3rd), Megan Allgeier (4th), Ava Hanson (5th), Maria Lopez (6th) and Madison Rahschulte (9th).  Eli Loichinger and Katie Olsen finished out the varsity seven and just missed the top 10, both placing 11th.

The Bulldogs had four runners with a personal best: Jake Chapman, Benjamin Adams, Isabel Raab and Alyssa Linville. Congratulations Dogs!

Jac-Cen-Del’s David Bradshaw:  The Eagle cross country teams ran in the Ripley County Meet last. The boys’ team was second and the girls’ team was third.

Individual finishers for the boys: Josh Pohle 5th (All-County), Adam Maloney 10th (All-County), Kameron Darnold 13th, Austin Rohls 20th, Austin Hammond 22nd, Gabe Maloney 23rd and Jacob Ricke 24th

Individual finishes for the girls: Cloey Simon 8th (All-County), Kayla Simon 10th (All-County), Virginia Minch 15th, Kinsey Rohls 18th, Allison Peetz 20th, Shelby Reatherford 21st and Alijah Karshner 22nd
