Batesville 8th Grade Boys Basketball

The Batesville boy’s 8th-grade basketball team traveled to Milan on Thursday night to play in the Championship game of the SEI Tournament. The Bulldogs faced off against South Dearborn to see who would win it all.  Unfortunately, the Dogs couldn’t shake off a slow start on either side of the court which lead to them losing the game 32 to 52. The slow first half put the Bulldogs behind by 18 points at the half which they just couldn’t overcome. Despite the loss, the Bulldogs fought hard the entire game never giving up, making us all proud to be Bulldogs. Scoring for the Bulldogs were Carson Hartley with 13 points, James Hughes with 9, Kamryn Holcomb with 6, Jevan “Buckets” Smith with 2, and Matthew Maher with 2. The Bulldogs finish the season with a record of 19 wins and 4 losses. They won the South Ripley and Waldron tournaments while finishing runner-up in the SEI tournament.
