The Batesville Middle School boy’s 7th grade basketball traveled to South Ripley, where they lost a close battle by a score of 31-37. The second time around playing the Raiders was a different kind of game, the Bulldogs showed great effort on both sides of the court. The Bulldogs got out to a slow start by the end of the first quarter it was 2-9. The second quarter was a different story, where a great defensive lead to scoring by the bulldogs hitting 2 3-point shots to close the half and still trailed 13-19. The Bulldogs kept up the defensive pressure, and at one point in the 4th quarter only trailed by 4. South Ripley hit some shots late in the game and would go on to win the game. The Bulldogs were led in scoring by Carson Meyer with 10 points, Jackson Peetz and Camden Kaiser with 8, Levi Hunt with 4, and Winston Garrett with 1.
The Bulldogs are now 1-3 on the season and host the St. Louis Cardinals for the cross-county shootout on Thursday, November 10th.
