Baseball recaps from Tuesday, April 26

The following are baseball recaps from Tuesday, April 26.  All games are varsity unless noted otherwise.  There may be updates, so please check back.

Batesville cruised to a 17-1 victory over Milan.  The Bulldogs scored 11 during the opening inning.

For BHS, Eli Loichinger got the win in his first varsity start.  The sophomore pitched four innings with nine strikeouts, five hits and two walks.  Offensively, Max Baumer, Travis Lecher, Jacob Meer and Loichinger all had two hits.  Charlie Schebler, Deric Gunter, Max Baumer, Lecher and Jacob Meer had two ribbies each.  Zach Wade, Alex Baumer, Jack Grunkemeyer and Will Jaisle had one RBI apiece.

For the Indians, Caiden Yorn singled and doubled and plated the team’s only run while Ethan Kaulig had a two-base hit.

The Batesville C-Team blanked Franklin County 12-0.

Carson Schneider threw a three-hitter with nine strikeouts and one walk.  Teammate Mason Jones had a couple of hits.

In junior high baseball, North Decatur outlasted Southwestern Shelby 15-14.

ND got two hits each from Hayden Ramsey and Eli Trenkamp.  Trenkamp led the team in RBI with three, Haden Ramsey had two as did Dekon Ramsey, Parker Morris and Logan O’Dell.
