Bartholomew County goes back to Stage 4.5

Columbus, IN — The Bartholomew County COVID-19 Community Task Force met Friday morning to discuss the impact of COVID-19 in their community.  After monitoring the trends in the schools and health systems according to a letter from the Health Department,  the county has decided to take a step back to stage 4.5 in the coming days.

Some stage 4.5 guidelines include restaurants restricted to 75% capacity; bars, bowling, theaters, and other indoor entertainment is restricted to 50% capacity; and gatherings of larger than 250 people are not allowed.

It was also noted in the letter from the Health Department that there is a continued need to practice stronger methods of social distancing and wearing of masks when in public.

The Task Force will continue to monitor virus numbers, and reassess the decision to move to stage 4.5 in the coming weeks.
